This position at the assistant or associate professor level are 9-month fixed-term appointments that will begin on August 16, 2022. The U.S. News and World Report annual ranking of graduate programs consistently rates the MSU Rehabilitation Counseling programs (doctoral and master’s levels) as one of the top programs in the nation. Required DegreeDoctorate -Rehabilitation Counseling Minimum RequirementsApplicants should have an earned doctoral degree in rehabilitation counselor education, rehabilitation psychology, or a closely related discipline, or provide evidence that the doctoral degree will be completed prior to the start of the appointment. Successful candidates must (1) have a record of teaching graduate courses and providing clinical supervision, (2) eligibility for CRC certification and licensure as a professional counselor (LPC) in Michigan, and (3) at least two years of experience in the field of rehabilitation services working with individuals with disabilities. Desired Qualifications(1) possession of teaching, and/or clinical skills and experience with diverse disability populations in the areas of disability and rehabilitation; (2) ability in promoting diverse, inclusive and culturally responsive teaching, and clinical practices; (3) providing quality mentoring and supervision at the graduate level. The program is designed to extend the knowledge base of the rehabilitation counseling profession in a climate of scholarly inquiry, and to prepare students to inform professional practice by generating new knowledge for the profession.
