UCC wishes to recruit a Professor/Professor (Scale 2) in Simulation Based Training/Director of ASSERT. The post holder will report to the Head of the College of Medicine and Health. The College of Medicine and Health at UCC has developed the ASSERT for Health Centre to address the global challenge of ensuring that health professionals can and do deliver better, safer healthcare for their patients. The need for a new, rigorous and evidence-based approach to medical training has been identified by governments, health services and training bodies around the world.

The Professor/Professor (Scale 2) in Simulation Based Training/Director of ASSERT will provide leadership and strategic direction to support the further development of UCC’s ASSERT Centre. The post holder will give leadership and strategic direction to ASSERT during its next phase of development. The post holder will work with the ASSERT team to identify new initiatives; work with industrial, clinical and regulatory partners; and achieve funding through research and teaching initiatives. The post holder will work closely with the iEd Hub team in the delivery of the objectives of the iEd Hub.

Appointment may be made on the following:

Professor Salary Scale: €132,302 - € 167,261 (Scale B)
OR
Professor (Scale 2) Salary Scale: € 111,794 - € 131,296 (Scale B)

Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
