# Job description
We are seeking a research assistant to join the laboratory of Franziska Denk at King’s College London.
As a successful candidate, you would join a large Wellcome Trust funded collaborative project to study persistent pain in inflammatory arthritis, also involving the laboratory of Leonie Taams at King’s College London, as well as research groups at the University of Oxford. You would work on the pre-clinical side of this translational research programme, studying fibroblast-neuron interactions using mouse and human cellular models of arthritis.
You should have experience with general lab and mouse colony management, including genotyping. Experience with maintaining human cell lines would also be desirable. Finally, good interpersonal and organizational skills are essential.

This is a full-time post - 100% full time equivalent# Key responsibilities
- Manage the laboratory’s mouse colonies
- Be in charge of laboratory organization, including management of stocks and records, and looking after communal equipment and facilities.
- Support various research projects that are ongoing in the laboratory by carrying out scientific experiments
- Be actively involved in supervising and training of undergraduate in lab projects within the group/team

**Essential criteria**
1. Experience with mouse genotyping
2. Excellent organizational skills
3. Conscientious at record keeping
4. Good time management skills
5. Good interpersonal skills, enabling you to work within our friendly and welcoming team
**Desirable criteria**
1. UK Home Office Personal Licence
2. Experience with maintaining human cell lines.
