Professorship (W2) of Bioinformatics 
of cardiovascular disease

The position is limited to 6 years. The W2 professorship is funded by the German Center for Cardiovascular Research (DZHK) - the largest research center for cardiovascular diseases in Germany. The DZHK focuses to transfer new approaches from the cardiovascular research into clinical practice to improve (Translation) diagnosis, prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. The DZHK combines excellent basic researcher / - inside and clinical researchers / makers from seven stand 
locations in Germany. The / The successful candidate / is -in DZHKProfessor / -in and Principal Investigator of DZHK (http://dzhk.de/forschung/dzhk-professuren/ ). The professorship is embedded in the Vascular Research Centre of the Goethe University. The position is to be also associated to the department of computer science.

 

The candidate / candidates must be reported in the field of bioinformatics data analysis. One focus of research in the field of Regulatory RNAs (RNA structure-function relationship analysis noncoding RNAs) or System Biology / Medicine (z. B. Data Integration) is warmly welcomed. A special expertise in the analysis of the cardiovascular system is an advantage but not a requirement.In addition, experience in teaching and governing their own working group and high-profile third-party funds and publikatorische services are provided.

 

The chair is equipped with a start-up financing ( "start-up package"), its own resources and unfettered access to the infrastructure of the Institute for Cardiovascular Regeneration and the IT infrastructure of cardiovascular gravity.

 

Setting requirements are a university degree, pedagogical aptitude, doctorate and habilitation or proof of equivalent scientific achievements, which may have been secured by means of a junior professorship or outside the university sector.
