Postdoctoral Position in Medicine Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar

In a pioneering international initiative, Cornell University and Weill Cornell Medical College established the Weill Cornell Medicine - Qatar (WCM-Q) through a unique partnership with the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development and has been in operation since 2002. WCMC-Q seeks candidates for a postdoctoral associate position in SIRT1 Biology in Adipocyte Metabolism 

The Mazloum laboratory (http://qatar-weill.cornell.edu/aboutUs/fa/bios/mazloumNayef.html) at WCM-Q invites applications for a postdoctoral associate position in the area of obesity and metabolism utilizing animal and cellular models. 

Research Description: The candidate will investigate the function of SIRT1 in adipocyte metabolism. The project aims to investigate cellular and molecular mechanism of SIRT1 in regulating adipocyte proliferation and differentiation. 

Qualifications: Candidate must hold a Ph.D. degree in Molecular and Cell Biology or a closely related field in addition to demonstrated experience in diet-induced obesity mouse models. Working knowledge of different cell and molecular biology techniques is essential. Prior expertise in fat metabolism and/or SIRT1 biology is desirable. 

WCM-Q is located in Education City, among other American universities, in Doha, Qatar, which is a rapidly growing research hub. The WCM-Q research program offers a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment, endowed with a comprehensive support infrastructure. Salary is commensurate with experience and is accompanied by an attractive foreign-service benefits package, including fully furnished housing and a car allowance.
