Postdoctoral Position in Tissue Repair Institut Pasteur, Department of Immunology

Postdoctoral positions in tissue repair/inflammation

Two ERC-funded postdoctoral positions are available at the Institut Pasteur (Paris, France), in the Group “Immunobiology of Stromal Cells”, Department of Immunology.

Our group is investigating tissue injury/repair, inflammation and fibrosis, more specifically the role of mesenchymal subpopulations and vascular niches in these processes. Other major interests of our lab include regulation of immune responses by stromal cells, and the role of the stromal microenvironment in cancer development/therapies.

You will study the role of specific mesenchymal subsets in tissue regeneration and inflammation, and cellular/molecular mechanisms underlying chronic inflammatory diseases (with a focus on chronic diseases affecting the skeletal/cardiac muscle, skin, lung or adipose tissue). The positions are part of a recently awarded ERC project aiming at identifying new therapeutic approaches in inflammatory diseases, regenerative medicine and cancer. For more information about our laboratory, please visit our website:
http://www.pasteur.fr/research/stromalcells.

The study will involve wide range of techniques including mouse models for tissue regeneration/inflammation, cell imaging, flow cytometry, transcriptomic analysis, angiogenesis assays and lineage tracing/ genetic depletion approaches for specific mesenchymal subsets developed in the lab (Dulauroy et al., Nature Medicine 2012). This project provides opportunities for interdisciplinary training, as it is at the crossroads of immunology, vascular biology and developmental biology.

You must have experience in either vascular biology, stem cells biology or immunology (as attested by one/several first author publication(s) in a related field), and hold a PhD. Highly motivated candidates with creative and innovative skills are especially encouraged to apply. The Institut Pasteur in Paris offers an international, dynamic and stimulating scientific campus with more than 1500 researchers working in 11 Departments favouring multiple collaborations, and access to top-notch plateforms.

The positions are available immediately, and applications will be reviewed until the positions are filled. To apply, please send your complete CV, motivation letter and contact information for 3 references, to:lucie.peduto@pasteur.fr.
