Applicants are sought for a Clinical Lecturer in Oral Surgery, based in the new Birmingham Dental Hospital and School of Dentistry, the first stand-alone Hospital and School to be built in the UK for almost 40 years, which replace the 50 year old Dental Hospital in the city centre. Based within The School of Dentistry, Institute of Clinical Sciences, College of Medical and Dental Sciences the post provides a unique opportunity for a dynamic, enthusiastic clinician who is committed to research and intent upon a successful career in clinical academia. The successful applicant will be required to register for a PhD soon after taking up the position, if they do not possess an equivalent degree already, otherwise support will be provided for a strong candidate to undertake their doctorate within the post. Immediate priority will be to provide a first class training in ongoing internationally excellent research and during their tenure the post-holder will also have obtained their Certificate in Teaching. Teaching will be in Oral Surgery. An NTN (A) in Oral Surgery will be requested from the Health Education England – West Midlands; however, the clinical component of training will not start until after the successful completion of the University probationary period of three years.
