The Academic Unit of Health Economics is seeking to appoint a research fellow with an interest in the application of econometric techniques in health. The post will involve the use of econometrics for the analysis of large NHS datasets and stated preference surveys. There will also be an opportunity to contribute to other projects including economic evaluations of health care technologies.

The University of Leeds is at the forefront of UK applied research in these areas and will provide a strong platform upon which to lay the foundations of a related personal research and methodology programme. The applicant will reside within the Academic Unit of Health Economics but will also work with researchers in Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Biostatistics, Clinical Trials Research Unit and the Leeds Institute for Data Analytics (LIDA). 

The successful applicant will initially work on specific projects relating to health outcomes research and preferences in cancer and dementia. You must have experience or training in the quantitative and data analytical methods needed for large healthcare dataset interrogation and analysis and/or choice modelling, including competence with relevant software or programming tools. A background in health economics and experience of applied research in health is desirable.
