Faculty Position
Department: Physical Therapy

Campus: Stony Brook West Campus/HSC
Salary: Commensurate with experience

Required Qualifications: Terminal Degree (PhD, EdD or DSc). Licensure, or eligible for licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist in New York State. Minimum six years of full time higher education experience, with a minimum of four years of full time experience in a physical therapist education program. Eligible for the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. Active involvement in the Physical Therapy profession, and understanding of contemporary Physical Therapy practice and key issues in Physical Therapy education. Demonstrated excellence in teaching. Ability to work well at all levels in a complex and diverse environment, fostering a spirit of collaboration with faculty, colleagues and administrators. Proven record of scholarship, including publications and extra-mural grant funding.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with CAPTE accreditation. Record of successful, dynamic leadership. Experience with management of human and fiscal resources. Understanding of and experience with curriculum content, design and evaluation. Experience in strategic planning.

Responsibilities & Requirements: The program Chairperson is responsible for program management, including budget planning, resource allocation, admissions, strategic planning, accreditation and mentorship. The Chairperson is expected to maintain and expand scholarly rigor through research grants and publications.

Special Notes: This is a tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously.
