Senior Lecturer in Cancer Queen Mary University of London, Barts Cancer Institute
Applications are sought for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to undertake high-level research and to develop a programme aligned to the strategic objectives of the Barts Cancer Institute, Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary, University of London. The successful applicant will join the Centre for Cancer and Inflammation led by Prof Fran Balkwill, based at the Charterhouse Square campus. Applicants should have demonstrable experience in ongoing research activity into basic and translational aspects of tumour immunology at a high level. The post-holder will contribute also to the Institute's undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. Essential requirements for this post include a Biological Sciences degree or equivalent (1st or 2:1) and a PhD in a relevant subject. Applications from candidates with an background of research into cellular and humoral aspects of the tumour microenvironment with translational potential, as well as an interest in pancreatic cancer are particularly welcome. Demonstrable experience in research with an appropriate publication record for the level of entry is essential. Experience of undergraduate teaching appropriate to the level of appointment would be an advantage. A demonstrated ability to communicate well, work within a team and maintain good laboratory records are also essential. The post is for 3 years.
