ROLE of the POSITION
Successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and directing the First Year Experience course that examines scientific research methods, ethics and communication in the Health Sciences. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising graduate assistants teaching discussion sections as well as working with different departments (Health Physics and Diagnostic Sciences, Kinesiology & Nutrition Sciences, and Nursing) in developing, directing, and teaching capstone experiences for undergraduate students.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate should have an appropriate terminal degree (e.g., EdD, PhD, DPT, DNP, DSc) in a health sciences related field (e.g., Health Physics, Kinesiology, Nutrition, Nursing, Physical Therapy, Radiography, or other Health Science field) with strong teaching experience. The successful candidate should have a strong teaching background, have exceptional organizational skills, be an excellent communicator and motivator, and experience working with college/university freshman, as well as an understanding of the variety of Health Sciences disciplines since a primary goal of the First Year Experience course is to retain undergraduate students as well as provide them tools to be successful in completing their undergraduate degrees in one of the Health Sciences disciplines.
SALARY RANGE
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
