The Department of Biotechnology and Chemical Technology  is looking for a

Master’s Thesis student in the area of Plant design

We are looking for a highly motivated student to carry out intensive project work in the Plant design research group under the topic of Studies of supported catalyst for hydrogenation process. The duration of the work is maximum 5 months.

The work consists of research for the effect of acidity and on the characteristics and performance of supported suspension catalyst that is to be used instead of pure metallic catalyst in the hydrogenation process. The selection of catalyst affects the plant operating and investment costs noticeably.

In this study, the data obtained from earlier and new experiments are analysed using different analysis techniques (XRD, BET, PSD, TEM). The study should result in technical information that can be applied in designing a pilot scale trial in hydrogenation unit.

As a successful applicant, you need to be open-minded, active, contact and get along with people, be highly motivated in process development and designa firm knowledge in chemical and process engineering.
