Post-doc positions

The Gérontopôle of the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Toulouse (Toulouse, France) is an internationally-recognized institution for clinical research on age-related conditions. In particular, several fields of expertise/research are present within the Gérontopôle, including geriatric medicine, Alzheimer's disease (the Gérontopôle is the largest Alzheimer's disease research and clinical center in France), nutrition, sarcopenia, and frailty (coordinating international scientific task forces on the topics). The Gérontopôle conducts clinical research and trials in all these domains and coordinates large national and international studies.

The Gérontopôle is currently recruiting post-docs to be involved in the ongoing research programs. In particular, candidates should be able to enhance the Gérontopôle studies through the publication of scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals. Post-docs with PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g., epidemiology, statistics, gerontology) is preferable (but not mandatory). English language fluency and adequate use of a statistical software are required. Various positions according to the candidate's experience are available. We are especially interested in applicants having the potentialities for future independent research positions. Posts are for full-time and fixed-term (period of one year, renewable for one year) appointments. 

The Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Toulouse is a public university hospital in the South-West of France currently employing more than 3,000 physicians and more than 10,000 healthcare professionals. Toulouse was selected by the French Ministry of Health and the Secretary of State for Older Adults as national center of excellence (Gérontopôle) in the field of geriatrics and gerontology because gathering together the required infrastructures, expertise, and clinical care facilities. The Gérontopôle of Toulouse aims to federate research teams within a common structure in order to increase research activities and prevention initiatives to promote health improvements in older persons. This structure, unique in France, includes more than 400 healthcare professionals and integrates several facilities. The Gerontopole has set in motion agreements with stakeholders all over the Midi-Pyrénées region, involving both clinical and research settings, and recruiting specifically trained clinical research personnel. This network composed by local and regional actors in the healthcare pathway for older persons allows over 30,000 older patients every year to benefit from clinical care and innovations from clinical research.
