Assistant Professor of Endodontics University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry

The Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto is seeking research excellence in endodontics or a related field, and the successful candidate will participate in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Faculty of Dentistry’s areas of research strength and future growth include: Biomaterials; Connective and Mineralized Tissue Biology and Wound Healing; Dental Public Health; Education Research; Microbiology; Oral Pathology and Cancer; Pain and Neuroscience. The candidate should bring novel approaches to both leverage and advance collaboration among these existing research areas. The successful candidate must have a PhD, or equivalent, at the time of appointment or shortly thereafter. Candidates should currently be engaged in active research with evidence of grant-supported research and publication of research activity. Evidence of excellence in research is required, as demonstrated by the publication of papers in top-tier field relevant academic journals, presentations at significant conferences in the field, awards and accolades, and strong endorsements by referees. Teaching excellence is required as evidenced by a strong teaching statement and strong letters of reference, as well as the demonstrated ability to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate program level as evidenced in the materials submitted for review as part of the application. Training in a specialty program in endodontics and eligibility to be licensed in Ontario as a recognized specialist in endodontics is also required. Preference will be given to those trained in an accredited program.
