Microbiologist-Chemist
Instructor/Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor Position

The Department of Experimental Pathology, Immunology and Microbiology at the American
University of Beirut is seeking an academic Microbiologist-Chemist with focus on development
of synthetic and natural antimicrobial products, for a full-time position at the Instructor/Assistant
Professor/Associate Professor/Professor level. Candidates should hold a PhD degree, preferably
with two years of post-doctoral research experience. Moreover, candidates should have good
knowledge of Microbiology and Organic Chemistry and have demonstrated basic and applied
research activities in the area of development and assessment of synthetic and/or natural
products, acting as inhibitors of antimicrobial resistance, which can be used for the treatment of
infections. The candidate should also have experience in teaching.

the areas of scholarly activities, teaching and research; and future plans, a curriculum vitae, and
