Research Assistant in the field of Ergonomics University of Saskatchewan, Centre for Health and Safety in Agriculture
Primary Purpose: The Ergonomics Laboratory, directed by Dr. Catherine Trask, within the Canadian Centre for Health and Safety in Agriculture is seeking applicants for a part-time Research Assistant in the field of Ergonomics and Occupational Biomechanics based in the College of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan. The position is designed to support investigations in ergonomics and occupational biomechanics relative to identifying and reducing injury risk within a rural and agricultural workforce. This role offers the opportunity to be involved in multiple projects, enabling the development of a wide range of research experience. Further information about our current research can be found on the following website: http://research-groups.usask.ca/ergolab/ Nature of Work: This position has no direct reports. Typically, the role will involve a standard 5-day work week with anticipated hours of 9:00am to 5:00pm, although this may occasionally vary due to the nature of research projects being undertaken. While workplace exposures will be minimal, from time to time the position will require on-farm or on worksite fieldwork which may include exposure to grain dust and animals. It is expected that the applicant will have a valid driver’s license and travel to worksites as required. Overnight travel is not anticipated. Accountabilities:
Qualifications: Education: BSc. or MSc. in biomechanics, ergonomics, or related field. Other combinations of educational qualifications and work experience may be considered. Ideal Experience:
