The Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in the Discipline of Orthodontics.
The Orthodontic staff within the Faculty are committed to excellence in teaching, research and clinical care. Teaching in both the undergraduate orthodontic course and in the Graduate Orthodontic Residency Programme forms a major portion of the educational responsibilities. Research in orthodontics is multi-disciplinary and collaborative in nature involving basic engineering and biological sciences. Staff are research-active and are vigourously developing a strong research reputation in the multidisciplinary area of 3D Biomedical Imaging, Assessment of Outcome, and Would Healing. Staff hold joint clinical appointments in the National University Hospital, and focus on providing high quality clinical care for orthodontic patients and those with cleft and related craniofacial anomalies. The Faculty of Dentistry has dedicated excellent teaching, research and clinical facilities and taps on collaborative resources to further its mission in teaching, research and clinical care.
The Faculty is looking for outstanding applicants who possess the following requirements: (i) an approved basic degree in Dentistry, (ii) a recognized qualification in Orthodontics from an official graduate orthodontic training programme, (iii) a high quality track record as an independent Principal Investigator in research areas related to Orthodontics.
All faculty members are expected to teach in the undergraduate and graduate orthodontic course, supervise graduate students, and conduct Independent research.
Besides appointments on normal 3-year contracts, visiting professorial appointments for one or two years may also be considered.
