The focus area of the Faculty of Medicine focuses on the theme "Lifelong Health Promoting Molecular and Environmental Factors", which creates new information on health determinants and promotes life-long health. Research on human life from fetal development to old age, with molecular and physiological properties as well as environmental, social and psychosocial factors. Combining ICT skills in health and services research to create new innovations in the connected-health theme.
The task of the professor is to actively participate in the development of science and technology at national and international level, to reform the teaching and research of the University in Oulu to meet the changing operating environment,
Key topics in the field of research include both micro-level healthcare management issues, health management, change processes and organizational issues such as assessment of human resources and effectiveness.
According to Section 33 of the University Act, a professor should pursue and guide scientific research or artistic work, provide teaching based on it, and monitor the development of science or art and participate in their field of social interaction and international cooperation.
A candidate for a professorship is required to have a doctorate degree, a high level of scientific or artistic competence, experience in scientific research management, the ability to provide high-quality research-based teaching and to guide theses and evidence of international co-operation in research.
When evaluating the applicant's earnings, scientific publications and other research results with scientific or artistic value, teaching experience and pedagogical training, skills in producing learning materials, other earnings gained through education, tutoring and supervised doctoral theses are taken into account. In addition, the applicant's activity in the scientific community's activities, success in obtaining supplementary research funding and foreign scientific work and international tasks will be taken into account. Applicants are required to be acquainted with the field of work.
The language of instruction at the University of Oulu is Finnish. The assignment also teaches English.
Paying employment
The remuneration of the assignment is determined on the basis of the salary levels of the University's teaching and research staff to the demand levels of 8 to 10. In addition to the specific salary component, a personal part of the pay component is paid, which is no more than 46.3% of the salary.

5) No more than twenty (20) publications specifically marked in the list of publications which, in the applicant's opinion, must be taken into account when assessing his or her qualifications and merit.
The study group will interview the best appraisers they are evaluating and arrange any necessary screening sessions for this purpose.
Taking action
The Dean, on the basis of a study group's presentation, draws up his presentation with justifications and appendices to the Research Officer of the University of Oulu, who will take a decision on the appointment.
