qualifications

  • The host must have a Norwegian PhD degree in relevant subject area or equivalent competence

  • Applicants must have a dental examination, be approved specialists in pedodontics and have Norwegian authorization as a dentist at the time of appointment

  • Applicants must be able to document extensive clinical experience in pedodontics and clinical and theoretical teaching experience, and scientific publications in pedodontics

  • It will focus on experience prior to the guidance of research projects, coordination of research activities, and from research strategy work

 

Furthermore, emphasis will be placed on personal skills and proven willingness and ability to cooperate.

 

The teaching language is usually Norwegian.

Løn

Professor hosted after salary steps 76-78 (code 1013) in the salary regulation to the state, for the time being 698 000 - 743 100 kr. Gross for per. year for a full-time position. Associate professor will be paid after salary steps 59-62 (code 1011 / salary frame 24.3-24.6), for the time being 503 800 - 535 900 kr. Gross per. year for a full-time job, in the wage regulation of the state at the time of appointment, and further promotion occurs after tenantance in the position. It hosts a 2% pension contribution to the Government Pension Fund. For highly qualified applicants, it may be appropriate to consider higher pay.

At the University of Bergen, the Department of Clinical Dentistry, it is available as a permanent professor (100%) in dentistry (pedodontics). If there are no eligible applicants for permanent appointment as a professor, it may be permanent with permanent appointment as associate professor.

 

The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Bergen has five institutes. At the Department of Clinical Dentistry, the main tasks are research, research education, dissemination and education of dentists and dental practitioners, and specialist / specialist education in clinical dentistry.

 

The Department of Clinical Dentistry has approx. 65 man-years divided by approx. 30 people in science positions, approximately 15 fellows and 15 in technical / administrative positions. The institute has its base in Årstadveien 19.

 

The host will receive teaching assignments in the field of pedodontics in accordance with current study plans. The section for pedodontics has for the past 1.5 years vitally added.

 

The teaching component includes basic education for dental and dental care students, and postgraduate and specialist education of dentists. The section has the professional responsibility for and operates a 3-year study program, which qualifies for specialist approval in pedodontics. The program currently has two students.

Changes in the study program for basic education have led to a softening of the boundaries between traditional subjects and changes in teaching assignments. This could also lead to changes to the tasks of the single-minded white-collar worker. Cooperation with other sections is a priority.

 

The research activity at the department is organized into four research groups. The thematic focus areas include biomaterials, controlled tissue engineering and regeneration, oral infections and inflammations and clinical dental research. Applicants with research roles in pedodontics and related subjects will be faced by others.

 

The language of instruction is usually Norwegian, and the host must be able to teach Norwegian or another Scandinavian language within two years after the appointment. Course hosted.

 

The host must have a pedagogical basic education, but applicants who fail to fulfill this requirement upon appointment, receive training and must document that the education is completed within one year after the date of the appointment. The deadline is two years for the person who does not appoint a Scandinavian language.

 

Responsibilities and duties

 

The host is obliged to conduct research, theoretical and clinical education, guidance, examinations and administrative duties in accordance with applicable guidelines. In addition to teaching pedodontics, the host added will have instructional obligations in integrated education courses across units.

 

In compliance with general rules of the university, the person assigned to him may, within normal employment and professional competence, also be given instruction, guidance and examinations outside of the organizational unit to which the position is attached.
