The role


The successful applicant will join a team focused on identifying and studying the genes, pathways and cellular processes involved in regulating cardiac morphogenesis in the developing embryo. This will include the use of a zebrafish model to investigate left-right patterning of the heart and its contribution to heart morphogenesis. Experimental approaches will involve confocal timelapse imaging, microdissections, transcriptomics, molecular biology approaches, drug screening and image analysis using the zebrafish model.

 

The person


Applicants should possess a PhD qualification in developmental, molecular or cell biology. They will also have a proven track record in developmental, molecular and/or cell biology research and the ability to achieve and maintain international benchmark standards of excellence in research. Demonstrable enthusiasm for developmental biology research as well as a strong commitment to publication productivity as a means to successful career progression will be highly regarded.

Remuneration


This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for 2 years at Research Academic level A. The remuneration package will be in the range $75,557.10- $87,535.13 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $88,401.81- $102,416.10 p.a.).
