Considering the switch to the University of Freiburg: It is one of the most renowned and strongest research universities in Germany, with a history spanning more than 500 years. You'll engage in top-notch research and teaching with a unique spectrum of disciplines, perspectives, and people - right in the heart of one of Germany's most beautiful cities.
The professorship is intended to represent the subject of biochemistry in its entirety in academic teaching within the M.Sc. courses in Chemistry, Biochemistry and Biophysics and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Lectures are usually offered in English. Desired research areas are the functional and structural characterization of integral membrane proteins and cofactor-containing enzymes using modern biophysical and biochemical methods. The physiological investigation of membrane transport proteins by electrophysiological techniques, especially on solid-supported membranes, should play a special role. Active participation in the existing and planned research networks of the university is expressly desired.
Admission requirements for professors are - in addition to the general conditions of employment law - a university degree, pedagogical aptitude and an outstanding doctorate. Scientific achievements beyond the scope of the doctoral thesis, which are usually proven by a habilitation, are expected (§ 47 Landhochschulgesetz (LHG)).
