PostDoc Position in Organic Chemistry/Radiopharmaceutical ChemistryDepartment of Drug Design and Pharmacology
We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic researcher for a 1.5-year position to commence July, 1st, 2019 or shortly thereafter. The position is part of a H2020 grant: Click-it, with the aim to develop pretargeted imaging strategies from bench-to-bedside.
Information on the research group can be found at: click-it-imaging.eu/project/index.html
Information on the department can be found at: drug.ku.dk
Our research Main research focus within our group is to develop new radiopharmaceutical entities for diagnosis and treatment. Organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, radiochemistry, pharmacology and nuclear medicine are only a few key interdisciplinary areas that our research strive. As such, it is not surprising that we work in a national and international network with frequent meetings within the EU. Pretargeted imaging and therapy are the main research focus areas that our group is addressing. Pretargeting strategies have for example the potential to accelerate biopharmaceutical drug development, improve clinical diagnosis using mAbs or increase therapeutic efficacy of targeted radionuclide therapy of nanomedicines.
Your job The project connected to this position aims to develop bioorthogonal chemistry for molecular imaging probes and translate them from bench-to-bedside within our consortium. The successful candidate will synthesize tetrazines that can be labelled with fluoride-18 and afterwards be used to image nanomedicines using Positron Emission Tomography (PET). SAR studies will be carried out to identify suitable structures that have appropriate pharmacokinetics to perform organic chemistry in living subjects. Beside these synthetic tasks, the successful candidate will also be involved in radioactive labelling and subsequent evaluation experiments.
