Ghent University Global Campus, Korea (GUGC-K) has a vacancy for a position of Teaching and Research Assistant starting from September 1st 2019 (starting date) in the BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH CENTER. It concerns a one year full-time position in support of the teaching and research activities of the research center, renewable subject to evaluation.

GUGC-K is the first campus of Ghent University outside Belgium. This brand new campus is located in Incheon, South- Korea. GUGC-K integrates educational and research facilities in a single building. Ghent University has the ambition to organize a first-rate, truly European education in Asia and to develop excellent research in the fields of Molecular biotechnology, Environmental and Food technology.
The terms of employment at GUGC-K are comparable to those at the campus in Ghent. Upon selection, the candidate needing a visa will apply for E-3 visa (Researcher visa) in Korea and free student accommodation and one round travel ticket between home country and GUGC-K are foreseen for international employee (E-3 visa holder). The international candidates who have other visa types (such as F-2, F-4 or F-6) in Korea also can apply for the position. The duration of the employment contract starts with one (1) year but if positively evaluated be extended and allow promising scientists to carry out research eventually with as objective to obtain a PhD. Co-supervision is foreseen from the Ghent University home campus.
