South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy is seeking applications for a 12-month tenure-track, full-time, benefits-eligible appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Social and Administrative Pharmacy in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. This position is supervised by the Department Head and will be based in Sioux Falls, SD.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary responsibilities are teaching and research in the area of Social and Administrative Pharmacy, as well as service to the College, University, and the profession of Pharmacy. Will be expected to develop, fund, and conduct and active research program.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ph.D. in Social and Administrative Pharmacy, Pharm.D. with M.B.A. or related degree field or fields by date of application.
- Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills,
- A strong dedication to superior and innovative teaching both in the professional degree and graduate programs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A professional degree in Pharmacy.
- Prior teaching experience, and/or background in pharmacoeconomics or research design.

The College of Pharmacy offers a six-year course of study leading to a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree and has had the successful entry level Pharm.D. program since 1994. The Department of Pharmacy Practice provides classroom and clerkship instruction for the last two years of the Pharm.D. degree program, and also contributes classroom instruction and early experiential training for the pharmaceutical sciences phase of the degree. Faculty are located at various practice sites which provides students the opportunity for diverse learning experiences.
Bordering Iowa and Minnesota, Sioux Falls is in the “Heart of America.” Conveniently located at the junction of Interstates 90 and 29 on the banks of the Big Sioux River. As South Dakota’s largest city, it is within a day’s drive of most major Midwestern cities.
