School of Tropical Medicine and Global Health (TMGH) is seeking an experienced candidate for the post of Research Fellow.

TMGH is a leading postgraduate school in Japan that teaches and trains students from various backgrounds to prepare them to work in resource limited areas, specialized in tropical diseases and global health.

TMGH has a strong collaboration with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and partners in the Philippines, Vietnam and Kenya. TMGH administers courses at master levels as well at doctoral levels. Recently, TMGH has lunched Diploma of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (DTMH) course.

 



[Job details (duties, subject responsible for, etc.)]
1.Assist in Master of Tropical Medicine/DTMH teaching: course organization, content development, teaching, evaluation of lectures etc. In particular planning for 2020 DTM&H course
2.Support on ongoing research projects in the Philippines e.g. protocol writing, ethics applications, data analysis, publication preparation
3.Supervise master students for their thesis if appropriate

School of Tropical Medicine and Global Health (TMGH)

Qualifications

[Details of required special expertise, qualification of the specific fields or degrees, etc.]
Essential:
•Masters degree in tropical medicine or public health or DTM&H within the last 15 years
•Teaching experience
•Research experience or achievements related to tropical medicine or global health
•Some publication experience

Desirable:
•Ph.D. in tropical medicine or public health field
•Clinical experience (at least 1 year) in low-resource areas.
•Teaching experience (at least 1 year) in an international institution.

Compensation

Regular faculty staff of Nagasaki University (Research fellow, full-time)
・ Salary, etc. are to be determined in accordance with Nagasaki University standards.
・ Working hours : 8:45~17:30, Monday to Friday
・ Holidays: Saturday, Sunday, national holidays, summer holidays, year-end and New Year's holidays, and annual paid leave (to be given after 6 months of start date)
・ Social insurance: Employee's pension
・ Contract period : October 1 2019 to March 31 2020 (potentially renewable
