DescriptionThe Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for a Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship Director faculty position at the Associate or Full Professor level in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology. This is an exciting opportunity for a Gynecologic Oncology academic clinician to lead our renowned Fellowship Program. The Fellowship Director will be directly involved and provide leadership to the ACGME accredited program including oversight of the lecture series, clinical schedules, semi-annual in person Fellowship Steering Committee meetings, formative evaluations of fellows, regular monitoring of transitions of care, case lists, and duty hours, fellows research projects, and mentoring of fellows for their professional development. Clinical responsibilities of all faculty members in the Division include the full range of gynecologic cancer surgery (eg., cytoreductive surgery, minimally invasive surgery, sentinel lymphatic mapping, etc.), chemotherapy regimen selection and dosing, and ambulatory practice. Facilitating mentorship in translational research (determined by individual faculty members’ interests and expertise), patient participation in NRG Oncology and industry-sponsored clinical trials, and the supervision and teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows are integral to our vision. Candidates must possess an M.D. degree and California medical license at the time of start date, certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology subspecialty by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2014 or earlier, experience in leadership roles in an academic setting, and demonstrated commitment to mentoring and developing trainees.
