The Wyss Zurich is a joint research and development center of the ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich, which was made possible by a generous donation from the Swiss entrepreneur and philanthropist Dr. h.c. mult. Hansjörg Wyss. The mission of Wyss Zurich is to drive the clinical translation and technology transfer of outstanding scientific discoveries into new therapies for patients and breakthrough innovations in the emerging fields of Regenerative Medicine and Robotics, and to promote hybrid technologies in these fields. Wyss Zurich brings together some of the world's leading experts to form multidisciplinary teams, pooling their knowledge and expertise.

Hemotune is an early stage medical device start-up project currently incubated at Wyss Zurich. Our mission is to develop a live-saving breakthrough medical device for targeted blood purification. We are currently in the preclinical development phase with the goal of reaching a first-in-man clinical trial in 2021.


Your responsibilities


Your responsibilities will focus on the development and upscaling of the chemical functionalization process of hemotune NanoSorbent products. Furthermore, you are responsible for the outsourcing and upscaling of certain production steps with external suppliers, establish standard operating procedures (SOP\\\'s), and manage stakeholders regarding chemical aspects. As Chemical Development Engineer / Chemist, you are an integral part of the interdisciplinary hemotune development team and directly report project progress and deliverables to the Chief Scientific Officer. You manage your own research & development projects from conception to release, which includes leading a small team of interns, thereby ensuring timeliness and quality of execution according to the requirements of the Quality Management System.


Your profile


You are excited to work in a start-up environment, are a strong team player and are passionate about what you do. You bring along a master\\\'s degree with work experience or a PhD degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Materials Science or Nanotechnology. You are experienced in working in a laboratory environment and are familiar with chemical standard synthesis and analytical techniques. Experience with chemical process design and upscaling, organic chemistry and nanomaterials as well as knowledge of medical device industrial standards such as ISO 13485 are a plus. Besides excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, you enjoy taking on responsibility and have experience in project management.
