Job summary

Applications are invited for the above post to work on REACT: a national prevalence study for SARV-CoV-2 virus that measures the presence of both the virus and the antibodies in England.

We have completed 2 rounds of the study measuring the presence of the virus and one round looking for the presence of antibodies. All three surveys recruited more than 100,000 people. Monthly follow-up rounds are planned for prevalence of virus with additional rounds also planned for prevalence of antibodies.

Duties and responsibilities

Your duties will be:

  • To wrangle, visualize and model infectious disease prevalence data
  • To develop novel analytical approaches in collaboration with colleagues that gain maximum insight from study data
  • To develop R code as part of a team that is easily readable and reusable
  • To draft reports for UK government on results and to draft manuscripts for publication
  • To maintain accurate and complete records of all findings
  • To provide guidance to PhD Students (For appointment to Research Associate and Fellow)

There is scope to adapt the specific responsibilities of this role to the aptitudes and interests of the successful candidate.

Essential requirements

You should have a PhD  or equivalent and  Research Assistant applicants should have an MSc or equivalent in one of the following areas infectious disease epidemiology, ecology, population biology, mathematics, statistics, theoretical physics, computer science or an alternative highly quantitative discipline.

This post is full time and fixed term until 31 July 21 and will be based at the St Mary’s Campus, Paddington. Imperial College is supportive of flexible working.
