Research Assistant for Alice Lee Center for Nursing Studies (The National University of Singapore for Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine)

National University of Singapore Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies (ALCNS) Research Assistant Appointment period: 1 year in the first instance, with a possibility of extension. Duties The appointee will assist the project leader in the project, “Evaluate the effectiveness and costeffectiveness of ‘Supportive Parenting App’, a mobile based application on parental and new-born outcomes: A multi-centre randomized controlled trial”, and will be required to: (1) oversee the general management of the project; (2) undertake the day to day running of the project at the study site (such as recruitment, provision of intervention, and data collection); (3) provide administrative and secretarial support to the project, such as organizing regular meetings to maintain regular communication with other members of the research team and collaborate with the study sites; (4) undertake the day to day running of the project at the study site, e.g. Collaborate with team members at the study sites, recruitment, data collection at hospitals/participants’ homes; (5) conduct literature searches, using SPSS to enter data, and analyze data and maintain trial database, as well as assist in preparing both progress and final reports of the project; (6) maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with policies and procedures; assist in preparing both progress and final reports of the project; and (7) work on other tasks as assigned. Qualifications The applicant should: (a) have a PhD, Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in nursing/medicine/social work/education or related disciplines or Advanced Diploma in Midwifery; preferably with some experience in research; (b) experience working with new parents or babies will be preferred; (c) be able to work independently and with a team, have an investigative nature and attention to detail; (d) have knowledge of computer applications (such as SPSS and MS Office); and (e) have good communication skills with patients and colleagues, and fluency in English.
