Research Assistant, Cancer Research @ UCC 15 Month, Fixed-Term, Whole-time Post Position summary Applications are invited from highly motivated and suitably qualified candidates for a full-time, Research Assistant to help develop and lead a research project “Women’s Cancer Survivorship: Supporting and Innovating for Change”, funded by the Irish Cancer Society. The project is a collaboration with the Enhancing Cancer Awareness and Survivorship Programmes (ECASP) at the School of Nursing at University College Cork; regional Cancer Support Services; Irish Cancer Society Services, amongst others. This multi-disciplinary nurse-led project will have impact and engagement across the hospital system, community services and international survivorship efforts (Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins, USA). The goal is to implement a complex intervention which will evaluate the impact on important symptoms experienced by women impacted by effects of cancer treatment. These are outlined in the National Cancer Strategy 2017-2026. This is a key position and the Research Assistant will be required to perform his/her responsibilities within the scope of the project and institutional guidelines. The Research Assistant will work under the supervision of Professor Roisin Connolly (medical oncologist) and colleagues with expertise in survivorship, breast and gynaecologic experts.
