Research Assistant Professor, Allergy and Infectious Diseases (Mycoplasma Genitalium) Position Overview Organization: Medicine, Allergy & Infectious Diseases Title: Research Assistant Professor, Allergy and Infectious Diseases (Mycoplasma Genitalium) Position Details Position Description The Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (AID) in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position. This position will be at the Research Assistant Professor level, without tenure due to reasons of funding (WOT) and will have research responsibilities. This position has an annual service period of 12-months [July 1-June 30] and is anticipated to start in July 2021. The successful candidate will lead investigator-initiated research on the interface of Mycoplasma genitalium as a pathogen, impacts on sexual and reproductive health, and novel therapies in treatment. The duties of this position include publishing in the field of infectious diseases and multidrug resistant pathogens, and mentoring. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Qualifications Applicants must hold a PhD (or foreign equivalent) in infectious disease or a related field, and have evidence of publications and research grant funding, and excellent verbal and written skills. The successful candidate must have demonstrated expertise in pathogens with a focus on work related to multidrug resistance.
