The Mitchell laboratory in the Department of Basic and Translational Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine is searching for a Research Associate. The successful candidate will have a strong background in ocular epithelial biology, with particular focus on calcium signaling and lysosomal actions. The successful candidate would run research projects on chloroquine retinopathy, exosomes, and nanoparticle development, with a particular focus on the physiological outcomes. Supervision of postdoctoral students and graduate students is expected, along with general lab duties. This is a grant funded position, but the candidate is expected to apply for their own independent research grants. Manuscript preparation is also required.


Ph.D. with 3-5 years postdoctoral training in ocular physiology.. Expertise in epithelial tissue culture, calcium measurements and lysosomal biology
