The other part of the position will be tied to the H2020 project Biomap (Biomarkers in Atopic Dermatitis and Psoriasis). The research associate will map the ethical and social issues of implementing biomarkers for dermatological diseases into clinical practice and help develop preliminary policy recommendations for translating biomarkers and related products into clinical care. The Institute has recently changed its focus towards working on a broad range of ethical and social issues in bio-medical research and clinical practice, with particular emphasis on the ethical and social implications of emerging health technologies (including data-driven and precision approaches to medicine, artificial intelligence, robotics, etc.). Other key areas include research ethics (e.g. participatory approaches and citizen science), public health ethics (e.g. solidarity studies in medicine and health) and digital health ethics (e.g. physicians rating websites and digital self-care).

Ex-perience with empirical methods in ethics (quantitative/qualitative) is an asset, as is familiarity with policy analy-sis/development. Candidates’ research should fall within the Institute’s novel areas of work, as sketched above.
