Role DescriptionDepartmentThe Department of Health Sciences is looking to appoint a Research Associate to join a multidisciplinary team of people working on transforming food systems. You will come with experience of co-production of research and participant involvement and a commitment to social justice and equality in health and health care. In this role you will conduct research under the supervision and mentorship of Dr Maria Bryant and Professor Kate Pickett (University of York) and Anna Taylor OBE (Executive Director of the Food Foundation). You will also be working with a wider ‘Transformations to Regenerative Food Systems (TReFS)’ team which aims to co-create regenerative food systems towards one that optimises health and the environment. RoleBased in York you will lead the coordination of a work package within TReFS (WP2) under the supervision of senior colleagues as well as contributing to the wider programme of work within TReFS, integrating activities between work packages and collaborating with other postdoctoral fellows, experts, partners and anchor institutions. With support you will lead on early years and school based stakeholder engagement, including a child-led ‘Leaders for Change’ group; providing support and developing platforms for meaningful involvement as well as lead on recruitment and data collection within early years and school-based settings in collaboration with the Food Foundation and the wider TReFS team. You will also support the co-design of transformative interventions and development of innovative methods for their evaluation. Condition of appointment This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. Consequently, all applicants will be asked to declare both unspent and spent convictions on their application form.
