DescriptionThe Department of Pathobiology at the University of Pennsylvania's School of Veterinary Medicine is inviting applications for a research position to study the use and development of mRNA vaccines relevant to pathogens of veterinary relevance. Experimental work will focus on immunological analysis of samples from vaccination models and experimentally challenged mice and other species. One set of studies will focus on the use of different adjuvant formulations and these studies will include investigating how mRNA particles deliver their mRNA cargo. Another group of studies will evaluate how mRNA vaccine delivery of antigens modify different accessory cell populations. An in depth understanding of immunology and immunological analysis is essential. The goal of these investigations will be to identify new approaches for host-directed therapies for the development of vaccines for different infectious diseases. The successful applicant for this position will be expected to be proficient in bioinformatic analyses and have a strong background in immunology. QualificationsApplicants must have a Ph.D. degree and 4-5 years of post-doctoral experience. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s training and experience.
Application InstructionsConsideration of applications will begin immediately. Additional information on the department may be found at https://www.vet.upenn.edu/research/academic-departments/pathobiology
