Applications are invited for two post-doctoral Research Associate positions at the Laboratory for Regenerative Medicine, Department of Clinical Neurosciences, under the supervision of Dr Mark Kotter and his collaborators in the Autism Research Centre (ARC) in Cambridge and in Clinical Neurosciences in Kings College London (KCL). The position will involve a program of research aimed at revealing the role of an intronic deletion of NRXN1 on autism-specific cellular structure and function in induced neurons generated through forward programming. The role of the successful applicant will be to work both independently and as a key part of a team. The overall aim of the project is to model early cortical development in autism using induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) technology to study the structural and functional properties and epigenetic markers of cortical neurons. The work is a collaboration between the ARC, the Laboratory of Regenerative Medicine at Cambridge University and the Department of Basic and Clinical Neuroscience at KCL. The project is supported by an award from the Autism Research Trust to the PIs (Dr Mark Kotter, Professor Simon Baron-Cohen, and Dr Deepak Srivastava).

Candidates should have (or be close to submission of) a PhD or equivalent in Psychiatry or a related science subject and be talented early career scientists wishing to extend their research in this area.
