Salary
£27511 to £40322 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience (minimum £30,942 with relevant PhD). Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance

Applications are invited for a MRC-funded Research Associate/Fellow based in Dr. Padma-Sheela Jayaraman’s group within the Division of Cancer & Stem Cells, School of Medicine, University of Nottingham.  Principal collaborators include Professor K Gaston (University of Nottingham Nottingham) and researchers at the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI). The successful candidate will be working as part of an international research team investigating transcriptional dysregulation in prostate cancer development and the associated immunological response. Although this post will be based at the University of Nottingham, it is expected that some work will be undertaken at KEMRI.

Applicants should be enthusiastic, highly motivated and capable of providing high quality work. The candidate should have a PhD (or near completion) in molecular cancer biology or molecular pathology/immunlogy, or the equivalent in professional qualifications and experience in research area. Publications and experience in tumour biology and gene regulation/epigenetics/bioinformatics is highly desirable.  An interest or experience in bioinformatics is particularly valued. Applicants must have initiative and good communication and teamwork skills.  Autonomy and independent thinking is essential.

The post is available on a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2022. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week), however job share arrangements may be considered.
