Salary
£27511 to £31866 per annum, (pro rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience (minimum £30942 with relevant PhD).

This project is funded through a British Heart Foundation project and MRC project working to develop a new treatment for peripheral vascular disease.  The host laboratory, Tumour and Vascular Biology laboratories, specialise in blood vessel growth in cardiovascular, eye and kidney disease and in cancer.

The post will help develop and test a therapeutic antibody that can stimulate revascularisation of tissues after femoral artery ischemia in human and animal models, as part of a development program to humanise and affinity purify a monoclonal antibody therapy.

The research will be comprise in vivo angiogenesis and revascularisation assays in rodents and associated in vitro experiments. You should have some experience of endothelial or monocyte cell biology, immunofluorescence, ELISA and imaging techniques and knowledge of endothelial cell and vascular biology as a whole. Experience in in vivo animal models of vascular disease would be an advantage, and particularly hind limb ischemia models in mice and/or rats, and experience in collecting and isolating leukocytes from human subjects and patients would be an advantage. 

The post will be offered on a full time, fixed term contract until 28 February 2022. Applications are welcome for part time working, minimum 29h per week. Job share arrangements may be considered.
