Research Fellow in Behavioural Science and Cancer x 2

Are you an ambitious researcher looking for your next challenge? Do you have a background in behavioural science, psychology, or psycho-oncology research? Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research intensive Universities?

You will contribute to the Advancing Survival Cancer Outcomes Trial (ASCOT) and/or the APPROACH study. ASCOT is testing a ‘light touch’ habit-based health behaviour change intervention and APPROACH is exploring the potential of a mobile phone application to increase physical activity. Participants in both studies are patients with a diagnosis of breast, prostate or colorectal cancer. ASCOT is funded by Cancer Research UK and APPROACH is funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research. The trials are being led by researchers at University College London (Dr Abigail Fisher and Dr Pippa Lally), and the University of Leeds (Dr Rebecca Beeken). You will be part of the local Leeds team and will contribute to the day-to-day running of the studies, site set-up and recruitment of participants (for APPROACH), data collection and analysis, and supporting the writing-up of research for publication.

You will have experience of working on medical records, ideally in a hospital setting. As you will work closely and interactively within a collaborative project team you will also need excellent communication skills.
