Wageningen Bioveterinary Research (WBVR) in Lelystad focuses specifically on innovative research for government and industry in animal health and public health, such as vaccine development and diagnostic testing. At WBVR, 250 committed professionals work every day on achieving this goal, together achieving an annual turnover of 35 million euro.
Within the framework of Veterinary Public Health, WBVR is increasingly performing contract research for veterinary and human biomedical companies. An important part of this research involves preclinical and clinical studies with virus infection models to study the efficacy of vaccines and antivirals, for example against SARS-CoV-2. These are studies in which virological knowledge is combined with veterinary, pathological and immunological knowledge and where work is done in teams.
Due to the increasing volume of contract research, WBVR wants to expand its workforce with a broadly deployable researcher/project leader (a veterinarian or biologist) with experience in virology/microbiology. The researcher will be deployed flexibly as a project leader on a variety of studies for various clients. The researcher is also expected to contribute to the acquisition of new research assignments.

In addition to these first-rate employee benefits, you will of course receive a good salary. We offer, depending on your experience, a competitive gross salary of between € maximum of € 5,183 gross per month based on a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 13 or 14). We are offering a position for 32-36 hours per week. Initially, this position concerns a fixed-term employment for 1 year, with the option of extension. WBVR is located in Lelystad, the Netherlands.
