Position description

Applications are sought for a full-time Assistant Project Scientist position. The successful candidate will work as part of an interdisciplinary research team in the UCLA Proteome Research Center in the UCLA Department of Biological Chemistry. The focus of the UCLA Proteome Research Center is the development and application of proteomic mass spectrometry approaches to characterize complex biological systems.

The UCLA Proteome Research Center works extensively with investigators at UCLA and other partner institutions to provide investigators access to powerful analytical workflows for systems-level characterization of complex biological systems, biomarker discovery and validation, and protein complex characterization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in these focus areas, will be motivated to learn and implement a variety of cutting-edge computational and experimental techniques, and will be excited to work with and develop teams within the lab.

A successful candidate(s) will have the following qualifications:
• PhD in a Biological or Computational Discipline
• Ability to work in a collaborative interdisciplinary environment
• Desire to conduct cutting-edge proteomic mass spectrometry research
• Proficiency in in both mass spectrometric and computational approaches
