Summary

The Kuraoka/Kelsoe labs seek a motivated Research Technician to assist in immunology research on B lymphocytes. Duties will include sterile cell culture,characterization of clonal antibodies, processing for DNA/RNA sequencing, and mouse husbandry. The successful applicant will be dedicated and responsible, capable of multi-tasking, and able to complete assignments in a timely way. The research position offers a unique research experience with cutting-edge techniques in a dynamic and highly productive, collaborative and collegial environment.

 

Specific Job Duties

  • Single B-cell cultures.
  • Serological assays (ELISA, Luminex).
  • Cloning and generating recombinant antibodies.
  • Mouse colony maintenance and genotyping.
  • Meticulous record keeping.
  • Completion of assigned tasks.
  • General lab maintenance that includes general clean up, ordering research reagents/tools, maintaining lab equipment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tissue culture expertise with sterile technique is essential.
  • Molecular biology technique, including RT-PCR.
  • Mouse handling experience.
  • Experience in flow cytometry is welcome.

Education

Work generally requires a bachelor's degree in botany, biology, zoology, psychology or other directly related scientific field.
