About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Centre for a Senior Clinical Research Fellow in Trauma Sciences research leading on the key aspects of Veno-Arteria ECMO for Cardiac Support in Major Trauma Haemorrhage within this research programme. The postholder will be expected to significantly contribute to the determination of the feasibility of, and the clinical, logistic and human factors barriers to, the rapid institution of VA-ECMO in critically bleeding trauma patients.  

About You

Applicants will have a UK-registerable basic medical qualification and experience of ECMO / Cardiac bypass / Mechanical cardiac support. They will have significant experience of managing patients with severe injury and experience of clinical Trauma and/or haematology practice

About the School/Department/Institute/Project

The Blizard Institute was established in 2003 and is one of six Institutes within Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL. The Institute comprises approximately 400 staff based in four academic Centres and one Public Engagement Centre, and supports a combined total of c750 postgraduate research and taught students. The Institute aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service.

The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London. It is full time, fixed term role for 24 months, to start as soon as possible. The salary will be based on seniority level from the range of £55,395 – £68,755 plus London allowance.
