The Institute of Chemistry is filling the position of a Senior Lecturer.

Duration of employment: 4 year/s

Extent of Employment: 20 hours/week, which include a teaching assignment of 12 hours instructive teaching on a average per semester.
Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: ยง48 VwGr. B1 Grundstufe (praedoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.

Job Description:

As a senior lecturer you will mainly teach in the field of organic chemistry in the area of instructive teaching (specifically in the lab courses for bachelor students of Organic chemistry ). Teaching to the extent of 12 hours per week is planned. Keeping the scientific status on cutting-edge and being involved in research projects as well as further didactic training during the lecture-free times is expected. Part of the job consists of administrative tasks, specifically in the field of teaching and the implementation of e-learning platforms.

The University of Vienna offers a 4-year contract for Senior lecturers with the possibility for a permanent contract in case of positive evaluation.


Terms of admission:

a) Master in chemistry

b) several years experience of teaching at university level
c) experience in the field of organic chemistry.
