About the team

The School of Psychological Science have been recognised internationally, with Psychology ranked in the top 50 in the QS World University and top 100 in the ARWU rankings. UWA has received the highest rating (5: well above world standards) for Psychology in each of the three rounds of the national Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) evaluations: an achievement matched by only one other Australian university. These rankings reflect the quality of the staff in the School, our strong undergraduate and postgraduate programs, the School’s capacity to attract substantial research grant funding to support innovative research, and the high citation rates of our publications.


A distinctive feature of the School is that we provide Western Australia’s only accredited graduate training in Clinical Neuropsychology, which draws upon and contributes to the School’s strengths in in this discipline area. This training is delivered through a Graduate Diploma and our combined Masters/PhD in Clinical Neuropsychology, which equips trainees with excellent research capabilities together with high-level clinical and professional skills. In addition to the Graduate Diplomas, we also run a Masters/PhD program in Clinical Psychology, and Masters programs in Industrial and Organisational Psychology and in Business Psychology. Our clinical programs are delivered through the School’s Robin Winkler Clinic, which affords Clinical Neuropsychology trainees the opportunity to provide supervised individual and group treatments for people with a wide range of neuropsychological difficulties, while also creating excellent opportunities for clinical neuropsychology research.


About the opportunity

The School has a unique opportunity for a passionate Clinical Neuropsychologist to build on and extend existing excellence in the field of Clinical Neuropsychology. We are seeking to appoint an exceptional individual who has the qualifications and experience necessary to contribute to the training of our Clinical Neuropsychology students, who will pursue a research program that enriches the School’s research activity in this discipline area.

As the successful individual, you will develop and deliver research-led teaching and evidence-based practice within the School and contribute to the research productivity and performance of the School by carrying out high-quality research; publication of research papers; and provision of research supervision.


About you

To be considered for this position, you will hold a PhD in Psychology, with postgraduate training in Clinical Neuropsychology. You will have a demonstrated contribution to high quality teaching in the field of Clinical Neuropsychology with a track record of successful Clinical Neuropsychology research with publication outputs in high quality journals, and student supervision experience. You will have a collegiate attitude and commitment to working with diverse groups both internally with university colleagues and externally with industry and government and/or advisory groups.
