Senior Lecturer in Primary Health Care/Community Nursing
Kingston University, School of Nursing
United Kingdom

The Role

Join our dynamic and forward-looking School of Nursing and in this key role you will enhance our School’s reputation as a provider of Primary Health Care (PHC) and Community Nursing (CN). Articulate and well respected, you will have a keen interest in developing PHC/CN education for qualified practitioners and pre-registration students at all levels. You will teach on programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, taking the lead on modules where appropriate. Alongside being involved in the pastoral care of students, you will be encouraged and supported to further your interests in research, enterprise or professional practice.

The Person

You will be passionate about PHC/CN, and will be abreast of local and national developments in this area of practice. Clinically up-to-date and credible in your specialism, you will have excellent communication skills and demonstrate the confidence to inspire a diverse range of post-qualifying and pre-registration students. It is likely that you will be a nurse lecturer in adult PHC/CN nursing. Alternatively, you may be a highly qualified clinical nurse specialist, lecturer/practitioner, or practice educator with extensive PHC/CN experience who is keen to consolidate a career in higher education. Whatever your background, you’ll have current NMC registration and a Master’s degree in PHC/CN, adult nursing or a related healthcare subject (or be working towards this, or are willing to). It’s also likely you will have a teaching qualification, such as the UKPSF2 or PGCHE but if not, you will be willing to undertake our in-house teaching programme during your probationary period.
