Three positions available as continuing and fixed-term roles within the Adelaide Nursing School

The Adelaide Nursing School is seeking outstanding Nursing professionals, who hold nursing registration with AHPRA (or are eligible to apply) and have outstanding records of teaching excellence, a track record of externally competitive research funding, publication in leading journals and successful completion of higher degrees students. For these positions we are seeking leaders with programs of research aligned with Australia's national research agendas.

Senior Lecturer - Continuing position

As a Senior Lecturer within the Adelaide Nursing School you will provide high level support to the school executive team through a range of research and teaching activities. Depending on the skills and knowledge of the appointee an opportunity exists to develop and lead the Higher Degrees Research role amongst other duties.

Senior Lecturer (Program Coordinator) – Fixed-term position available immediately until October 2024

The Adelaide Nursing School is seeking a Senior Lecturer to co-lead the pre-registration programs. With an emphasis on teaching quality and student engagement you will have previous experience in curriculum design at program level and have a record of excellence in designing and implementing innovative teaching practice.

Associate Professor Aged Care Nursing - Fixed-term position for 5 years

The Adelaide Nursing School is seeking to appoint an Associate Professor of Aged Care with an emphasis on research, learning and teaching that leads to supporting independence in aging and reducing aged care related deterioration. In this role, you will participate in the development and refinement of aged care research with particular attention to nursing excellence and care. You will provide leadership in developing a portfolio of aged care research and assist the Dean of the ANS by providing leadership and management to other roles as required.

All senior Adelaide Nursing School staff are responsible for mentoring and supervising junior staff and will provide leadership in teaching, research, and service development commensurate with the values of the Adelaide Nursing School and the Faculty of Health and Medical Science. With a high level of hands-on practical experience in both simulation and real healthcare settings, our aim is to equip our students to manage patient care, education and health promotion and advocacy. We are seeking academic staff who are innovative with their teaching methods and passionate about preparing the next generation of health care professionals

To be successful at Senior Lecturer - Level C, you will need:

  • Eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • A PhD in nursing or a related discipline.
  • A record of academic achievement of national standing through significant contributions, including academic leadership, to the scholarship of teaching, research, innovation or professional activity.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary practices in nursing.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others in the delivery of high-quality program or course design, and in the delivery of high quality, student centered learning and teaching at an undergraduate or postgraduate level.

In addition to the above to be successful at Associate Professor - Level D you will need:

  • Appropriate background in nursing practice and experience in leading and research in the aged care sector.
  • Nationally/internationally recognised research expertise, demonstrated by a track record of publishing in peer reviewed journals and securing external grant funding.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading the development of aged care innovation and improvement applying a multidisciplinary team approach that is informed by best available evidence.
  • A clear understanding of current issues and challenges in aged care, health system redesign, educational reforms and the nursing profession at large, in the context of health system reform locally and globally.
  • Demonstrated high level leadership in a clinical and academic environment.
