Teaching Associate - Surgical Oncology ARNP or PA-CPosition OverviewOrganization: Surgery Title: Teaching Associate - Surgical Oncology ARNP or PA-C Position DetailsPosition DescriptionTeaching Associate - Surgical Oncology- Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant The Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery within the University of Washington School of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (ARNP or PA) at the rank of Teaching Associate. This is a faculty position and will be based primarily at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) with an anticipated start date in Winter 2021. The APP Teaching Associate appointment is a 12-month term, with reappointment recommendation on an annual basis. University of Washington faculty engage in clinical care and teaching, with opportunities for quality improvement and research. APPs are an integral part of the surgical faculty team at the SCCA. The Surgical Oncology ARNP/PA-C is an advanced registered nurse practitioner or certified physician assistant who provides evaluation and management of pre/post-operative patients at the SCCA. The ARNP/PA-C assesses and manages the pre and post-operative phases of treatment, addresses treatment toxicities, performs procedures, monitors for cancer progression or recurrence, and consults with professional peers as needed. They work collaboratively with the treatment team to coordinate care of their patients. All clinical responsibilities are performed within the scope of practice, institutional privileges and under the supervision of an attending physician. Job Responsibilities
