The Education & Student Affairs (ESA) department supports education with conducting the education and student administration, coordinating education policy, supervising and supporting (foreign) students and PhD students, providing (didactic) training, giving educational advice and support, and offering sports & culture activities. The ESA management consists of the Education Service Center, Academic Services, Extension School and X departments. The management has around 250 employees. The ESA management is known within TU Delft for the high quality of its services and has a proactive and solution-oriented culture.

The Education Service Center (ESC) takes care of the education and student administration, including admission, registration, grade registration and study progress for all (international) students and PhD students of TU Delft. In addition, the ESC supports TU Delft's education logistics, such as digital testing, registering and scheduling education programs and education accommodation. Around 100 employees work within the ESC, divided into the Contact Center, Student Administration, Study Program Administration and Education Logistics teams.

The Education Logistics team takes care of the scheduling of education, the logistical support of (digital) exams on campus and, in collaboration with the Real Estate and ICT / Facility Management departments, directs qualitatively and quantitatively good education and study places at the Tu Delft.

Job description
The position of Educational Logistics Manager is a varied and challenging management position. You lead a dynamic team with 15 driven employees from different disciplines. You are a member of the Management Team of the ESC department and you report to the ESC manager. The ESA management has established a multi-year development plan with the strategic ambitions of digital excellence, truly international and catalyst for innovation. As a Education Logistics Manager you contribute to the realization of these ambitions by translating them into concrete objectives and the development of process-oriented working within your team. In this position you work closely with the faculties and other services including Real Estate and IT / Facility Management. During the implementation of the ESA development plan, you are expected to be flexible in taking on a role within process management and to guide employees in the transition to process-oriented working. In this role you work with process managers, process owners, business analysts and ESA policy officers.

We expect the following from you:
You guide and develop the team and the employees in the team. You have an eye for the potential of the employees and a good working atmosphere;
You are responsible for the correct allocation, management and monitoring of (financial) resources of the team;
You ensure an optimal organization and staffing of Education Logistics and you prepare a department plan in consultation with the team with which the strategic ambitions of ESA can be realized;
You identify and advise on possibilities for improvement in methods and procedures;
You manage (sub) process managers who are responsible for the quality, implementation and improvement of educational (chain) processes, scheduling, exams and educational accommodation;

You proactively provide input for the formulation of (part of) the policy regarding the implementation of the scheduling, interim examinations and educational accommodation processes. For this you work intensively with policy officers, process owners and managers from adjacent departments and business analysts and functional application managers;

Job requirements
You have WO working and thinking level and a well-developed analytical ability. You are enthusiastic, you have excellent social and communication skills, you are proactive and you like to take initiative. You are a team player and organization sensitive, so that you can work well together with faculties and other managements, also in situations with conflicts of interest. You know how to keep an overview and you have an eye for the complex, ever-changing environment. You can motivate employees and take them into account for changes. TU Delft is an international organization, good oral and written command of the Dutch and English language is required for this position.

This function also requires:
Work experience with educational logistics processes;
Experience with coaching and result-oriented leadership;
Experience with (lean) change processes is an advantage;
Work experience with process-oriented working is an advantage;
